Job summary

Oatey invites college students to join a 12-week Manufacturing Automation Engineering Intern Program in Shakopee, MN. You will work with the Manufacturing Engineering team on hands‑on automation projects and gain exposure to PLCs, wiring, machining, and CAD tools.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, develop technical skills, and be part of a program that often leads to full‑time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an engineering degree or engineering technician program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
• Interest in manufacturing process design and production equipment.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, multicultural team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Process-oriented thinker.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication of automated equipment for improving production processes across Oatey product lines.
• Support Automation Engineers with wiring, machining, and assembling custom automation; gain exposure to PLC programming and controls.
• Manufacturing process analysis and evaluation for automation.
• Provide startup support for debugging and production.
• Design and document work cells and fixtures to support process improvements
