Job summary
Oatey is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineering Intern to support the Manufacturing Engineering team in Shakopee, MN. You will contribute to automation projects, gain exposure to PLC programming, and assist in designing work cells and fixtures to improve production processes.
The program offers one-on-one mentorship, development experiences, and networking opportunities within a diverse team. Enrollment in an engineering degree or tech program is required.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an engineering degree or engineering technician program.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Interest in manufacturing process design, material flow, production equipment, work methods, and processes.
- Ability to work within a cross-functional, multicultural team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize work efficiently.
- Process-oriented thinker.
Responsibilities
- Fabrication of automated equipment for improving production processes across Oatey product lines.
- Support Automation Engineers with wiring, machining, and assembling custom automation; gain exposure to PLC programming and controls.
- Manufacturing process analysis and evaluation for automation.
- Provide startup support for debugging and production.
- Design and document work cells and fixtures to support process improvements.
