Job summary

Empire Livestock LLC in Fallon, NV is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform planned and unplanned repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment, and to support installation of new systems. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and work with limited supervision while assisting less experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, routine inspections, documenting repairs per SOP, and ensuring GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade/technical school preferred in electrical/mechanical disciplines.
• 2–4 years maintenance/equipment experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Certification and/or license may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned, unplanned, and emergency maintenance on production, processing, and packaging equipment and related systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
• Read and interpret technical procedures, schematics, manuals, and work orders.
• Support installation of new equipment.
• Assist operators with training and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders promptly with high quality.
• Use hand/power tools, meters, and handling equipment safely.
• Maintain communication with other departments and management.
• Document repairs and required information per SOP.
• Stay updated on new products, equipment, and techniques.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Forecast parts needs and follow purchasing procedures.
• Maintain safe working conditions and GMP compliance.
• Follow all regulatory and sanitation requirements; perform other duties as assigned.
