Job summary

Arlington Properties in Cary, NC is seeking a Maintenance Service Technician who loves hands-on work and solving problems to keep homes & communities running smoothly. You’ll prep vacant apartments, handle work orders, perform general maintenance (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC), and support preventive maintenance with a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service while providing training and dedicated tools.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).
Proficiency in at least one major trade area.
EPA certification preferred.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all conditions.
Flexible schedules, including weekends and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

Prep vacant apartments to market-ready condition.
Handle work orders with skill, urgency, and a smile.
Perform general maintenance including light plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC support, and appliance repair.
Keep grounds and common areas clean and inviting.
Support preventative maintenance and inspections.
Pitch in with snow removal, pool upkeep, and seasonal tasks.
Stay alert and on-call for emergency maintenance needs.
