Veritas Environmental Services LLC in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our growing team on a part-time basis with potential to transition to full-time. You will help maintain facilities and equipment, perform routine tasks, and support senior staff in day-to-day requests.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience or basic tool knowledge, a strong safety mindset, and a reliable, team‑oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in maintenance, facilities, or related hands-on trade preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and general repair techniques.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive attitude.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Willingness to grow into a full-time role and take on additional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of facilities and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Support senior maintenance staff with day-to-day service requests and work orders.
• Inspect equipment, tools, and work areas to identify and report potential issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and storage spaces.
• Follow all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and general facility upkeep as needed.
