Job summary

Vermeer Corporation in Piedmont, SC is seeking a Second Shift Technician to support the repair and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems on production equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, document work in Thrive, and act as a SME for one or two systems while following safety protocols.

This role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, teamwork, and clear communication with mentors, peers and vendors to ensure equipment reliability

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in equipment maintenance or an associate’s degree in basic trades with related experience.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools, read blueprints and electrical schematics, and perform basic math.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
• Effective communication with mentors/mentees, peers, internal customers and external suppliers and vendors.
• Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform and record scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment such as hoists, paint systems, machining centers, and weld systems.
• Provide excellent customer service and collaborate with mentors, peers, and external vendors.
• Accurately use Thrive and document maintenance actions.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical system issues across multiple maintenance areas.
• Serve as SME for one or two systems while adhering to safety protocols (LO/TO) and electrical qualifications.
