Job summary

Estes Express Lines is hiring for a maintenance technician at our Service Center in Chattanooga. The role covers a range of upkeep including landscaping, carpentry, welding, plumbing, painting and overhead door repairs.

The position requires the ability to read work orders and manuals, lift up to 70 lbs, and work independently or with a team. Flexibility for night or weekend shifts and a strong safety record are important.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• Must be 17+ years old.
• Prev janitorial and maintenance experience preferred; welding/plumbing/painting/door repair helpful.
• Stable employment history.
• Transportation experience a plus.
• Ability to read/work orders and manuals.
• Able to work within time constraints.
• Follow all safety practices.
• May require night/weekend shifts; must be flexible.
• Able to lift ~70 lbs.
• Able to comply with company policies and conduct.
• Able to interact well with others.
• Able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform property maintenance and landscaping.
• Perform light carpentry.
• Welding, cutting, plumbing, painting and overhead door repair.
• Inspect and maintain Service Center building.
• General cleaning (sweeping, mopping, buffing, dusting).
• Troubleshoot and correct problems.
• Repair or replace defective parts or systems.
• Perform safety inspections and document them.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Other duties as assigned if needed.
