Goodwin Recruiting is hiring a Machine Builder in Fort Wayne to assemble and test specialized industrial automation equipment from start to finish, working with mechanical and controls engineers. This is not repetitive production work; you’ll contribute to real projects and see your machines used at customer sites.

We welcome candidates with mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, or machine rebuilding backgrounds and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, or machine rebuilding.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings or learn technical schematics through hands-on training.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering teams.

Responsabilités

• Assemble and align mechanical components with tight tolerances.
• Identify and resolve mechanical problems during assembly, testing, and debugging.
• Install mechanical components and develop proficiency in electrical wiring and control panels.
• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems; training available for relevant candidates.
• Participate in complete machine builds from initial assembly through run-off and functional testing.
• Travel approximately 20% for customer installations, including occasional international travel.
