Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Fort Wayne, IN to improve existing equipment, develop new designs, and work with cross-functional teams to bring designs to life. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, 3D modeling, and GD&T within a custom machinery environment.

The position requires SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor proficiency, strong GD&T knowledge, and experience creating BOMs.

Qualifications

• Mechanical design experience with industrial machinery or automated equipment.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and manufacturing drawing experience.
• Ability to perform mechanical calculations and select components.

Responsibilities

• Modify existing machinery designs (75%) and develop new equipment (25%).
• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks.
• Apply GD&T and perform mechanical calculations involving loads, forces, and torque.
• Select bearings, gears, actuators, and other mechanical components.
• Collaborate with Controls Engineering and Assembly to troubleshoot and improve equipment.
• Support custom machinery projects from design through testing.

Ready to do more than sit behind a CAD screen? We're seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established custom machinery manufacturer in Fort Wayne, IN. You'll improve existing equipment, develop new designs, and work directly with the teams bringing your designs to life.

What You'll Do

• Modify existing machinery designs (75%) and develop new equipment (25%).


• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks.


• Apply GD&T and perform mechanical calculations involving loads, forces, and torque.


• Select bearings, gears, actuators, and other mechanical components.

What We're Looking For
