Job summary

Perdue Foods in Forsyth, GA is seeking a Maintenance Technician Lead for 1st shift to oversee a team of technicians and drive equipment reliability. You’ll perform hands-on maintenance, mentor staff, and champion safety, preventive maintenance, and quick root-cause analysis to keep production lines running smoothly.

The role requires strong hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, welding, rigging skills, and PLC familiarity, with a 5–8 year background in industrial maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5–8 years experience in industrial maintenance.
• Expert proficiency in hydraulics, mechanics, electrical, welding and rigging.
• Intermediate proficiency with PLC.
• Commitment to continuous learning.
• Effective communication, both orally and in writing.
• Maintain Perdue Farms QEW Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly technically complex tasks and decision-making while overseeing a team of Maintenance Technicians.
• Lead team to deliver all planned work; coach, mentor and guide the team daily, including assisting with new hire onboarding.
• In collaboration with the supervisors, provide real time direction to the associates on the team in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
• Plan and allocate real time resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
• Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
• Establish, maintain relevant controls, and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the department.
• Learn and observe all safety precautions as required by Perdue.
• Maintain records and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports.
• Work all required work schedules. Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.
