Job summary

Labette Health is seeking an experienced, hands-on Laboratory Supervisor to lead our small but vital clinical laboratory at our Independence campus. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Certification as MT/MLS/MLT (ASCP or equivalent) required.
• Minimum three (3) years of recent clinical laboratory experience; at least one (1) year in a charge, lead, or supervisory capacity preferred.
• Demonstrated competency across core laboratory disciplines and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, or equivalent accreditation standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities—comfortable leading a small, close-knit team.
• Ability to participate in limited on-call rotation for after-hours operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting results.
• Resolve technical problems per lab policies and procedures.
• Monitor QC/QA and test performance.
• Conduct routine tests for diagnosis and treatment under supervision.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for CLIA, CAP, CMS, and KDHE.
