Job summary

Summit Staffing Partners is seeking a hands-on System Administrator to support a venture firm's IT infrastructure in Houston. The role spans Windows environments, endpoints, servers, networking, cloud services, and security tools, with focus on providing end-user support and improving IT operations.

The ideal candidate has 3–6+ years of hands-on experience, proficiency with Microsoft 365/Intune, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

3–6+ years in systems administration or a similar hands-on IT role.
Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, Windows environments, servers, and networks.
Strong problem solving and structured troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day technology operations across Windows, servers, networking, cloud services, and security tools.
Administer Microsoft 365 and Intune; assist with device management and user access.
Provide hands-on support for hardware, software, connectivity, and end-user issues.
Monitor Windows desktops/servers; address performance and security concerns.
Support network infrastructure, including firewalls and connectivity.
Contribute to cloud strategy and adoption of cloud-based technologies.
Assist with upgrades, migrations and IT improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with vendors/MSPs and internal resources to resolve issues.
Strengthen security posture by supporting controls and related initiatives.
Investigate problems, determine root causes, and document resolutions.
