Job summary

CMC is hiring for an on-site maintenance apprentice to support repairs, inspections, and calibration of mill equipment. You will learn preventive maintenance and safety standards while working with skilled technicians in a dynamic industrial setting.

Ideal candidates are self-driven with basic PC skills and a willingness to learn multiple trades. This full-time role follows day-to-day tasks and rotating shifts as needed to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Basic PC skills and familiarity with MS Word/Excel required.
• Must be self-starter and able to follow directions in a team setting.
• Exposure to industrial environments and safety practices.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a manufacturing maintenance role.

Responsibilities

• Answer and make emergency calls to repair equipment.
• Follow safety rules and participate in site Safety Program.
• Operate and maintain mill equipment with supervision.
• Read repair orders and communicate needs for clarification.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to maximize reliability.
• Assist with routine maintenance and inspections.
• Learn preventive maintenance practices to minimize downtime.
• Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
