Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking an Apprentice Maintenance for our Durant, OK mill. You will participate in hands-on maintenance, learn preventive practices, and gain exposure to electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems while working with skilled technicians.

Qualifications

• Basic personal computer and software skills (MS Word, Excel).
• Exposure to heat, dust, fumes, uneven surfaces and loud noise.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow directions in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer and make emergency calls to repair equipment.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and participate in the Safety Program.
• Operate equipment and assist with maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret condition reports and repair orders.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to maximize safe operations.
• Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Assist with routine maintenance and inspections of mill equipment.
