Spectrum Woodworking & Interiors LLC is seeking an experienced, hands‑on HR Manager to own the day‑to‑day HR function across our growing group of companies in the Portland area. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration, you will manage recruiting, payroll administration, employee relations, benefits, safety, workers' compensation, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years HR/generalist experience
• Hands‑on recruiting and payroll administration
• Strong employee relations and performance management
• Experience with workers' compensation and workplace safety administration
• Working knowledge of state and federal employment requirements
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and follow through
• High level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information

Responsibilities

• Manage recruiting and hiring from job posting through onboarding
• Serve as the primary day‑to‑day HR resource for employees and managers
• Manage employee records, onboarding/offboarding, PTO, leaves, policies, and HR documentation
• Support managers with performance management, coaching, corrective action, and terminations
• Administer payroll across multiple company entities and coordinate employee benefits
• Manage workers' compensation claims and return‑to‑work processes
• Administer company safety programs, OSHA records, training documentation, and incident reporting
• Maintain compliance with applicable Oregon, Washington, and federal employment requirements
• Coordinate annual employee reviews and support employee development and retention initiatives
• Track key HR metrics including recruiting, turnover, attendance, safety, and workforce trends
