Job summary

Prospera Consultoria seeks an Early Childhood Assistant to support the Head Start classroom in Lake Oswego, Oregon. You will assist the teacher with lesson plans, assessments, and creating a developmentally appropriate learning environment.

You will help maintain records, supervise children for safety, and participate in parent events and screenings as needed, using positive behavior strategies and teamwork.

Qualifications

• CDA required; AA/AS in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Experience in an early childhood education classroom, certified child care center, or comparable program.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with assessments and individualizations.
• Design and implement daily lesson plans within the classroom.
• Create and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Maintain records such as child observations, lesson plans, and attendance.
• Ensure a safe classroom through supervision and safety protocols.
• Support PBIS approaches to guide child behavior.
• Greet children and escort them to the classroom.
• Prepare and gather instructional materials under teacher direction.
• Participate in parent Open House and monthly childcare events.
• Conduct developmental screenings as requested.
