Job summary

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking a hands-on Hardware Debug Engineer to diagnose, troubleshoot, and recover rugged embedded computing hardware. You will investigate failures on complex single board computers and system assemblies, using schematics, test equipment, and structured debugging to identify root causes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent; relevant experience may substitute.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on hardware troubleshooting interest.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work onsite at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway, Verona, WI.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies and single board computers down to the component level.
• Perform hands-on electrical and functional testing with lab equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and assembly docs to support troubleshooting.
• Document troubleshooting activities, findings, and corrective actions.
• Analyze failure data to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to Production and Engineering.
• Develop and improve troubleshooting methods, test procedures, and diagnostic tools.
