Job summary

Peoplify in Tampa, FL is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the accounting department for a commercial finishes contractor. This full-time, on-site role reports to the Remote Group Controller and the on-site President.

You will own the month-end close, WIP, reconciliations, payroll, and AR/AP workflows, coordinating with project teams through Knowify and billing portals. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, 5+ years in construction accounting; CPA preferred, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of five years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in the commercial construction industry strongly preferred.
• Experience with QBO and Knowify project management software strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close, WIP, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Handle payroll, AR/AP and lien waiver coordination with projects.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for the Board.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and accurate job costing in Knowify.
• Oversee banking, invoicing, and billing portals (Textura, Pro Core, Pro Log).
