Legacy Healthcare in Dolton, Illinois is seeking a dependable Director of Maintenance to oversee the daily upkeep of our Assisted Living Facility. You will ensure that spaces, equipment, fixtures, and common areas are safe, functional, clean, and well-maintained.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of identifying needs, addressing problems promptly, and taking ownership of completing projects correctly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or related field.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general handyman and building maintenance duties throughout the facility.
• Patch, repair, and paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs and address minor issues.
• Replace and repair fixtures, hardware, lighting, and other components.
• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine repairs or when outside vendors are needed.
• Maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and spaces.
• Assist with furniture, doors, cabinets, appliances, and adjustments.
• Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance needs early.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
• Keep records of repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for residents, staff, visitors.
• Respond promptly to requests and urgent facility needs.
• Follow safety procedures and facility policies.
• Keep accurate records of completed repairs, maintenance activities, and outstanding issues.
