Job summary

Extended Care LLC in Illinois seeks a dynamic Maintenance Director to oversee the planning, organization, staffing, and coordination of maintenance, laundry, and housekeeping departments. This role ensures the facility remains clean, safe, and well-maintained while guaranteeing laundry services for resident clothing and linens.

You will lead a capable team across multiple departments, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to regulations, while maintaining a compassionate, resident-focused

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, heating and air-conditioning; licensure a plus.
• Familiarity with OSHA and IDPH regulations.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Business and personnel management training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and hire personnel to maintain staffing levels.
• Oversee scheduling of staff to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
• Supervise purchasing, storage, and distribution of housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry supplies.
• Conduct fire, disaster, and evacuation drills for all shifts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Administrator.
• Participate in Department Head weekend supervisor rotation.
• Be on-call 24/7 to handle emergencies and urgent repairs.
• Schedule and oversee life safety inspections (fire alarms, sprinklers, generators).
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of housekeeping, laundry, dietary, HVAC, and facility equipment.
