Job summary

Dimensional Innovations is seeking a Fabricator Intern to join our Kansas City-area shop. You will work hands-on with the fabrication team to build real client projects using a variety of materials and techniques, learning from experienced craftspeople.

You’ll turn drawings and raw materials into finished experiences, with daily hands-on practice in a professional fabrication environment and a focus on quality, safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Student pursuing Construction, Carpentry, Cabinetmaking, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Sculpture or related program.
• Interest in fabrication and making things by hand.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools and blueprints/readable drawings.

Responsibilities

• Help fabricate and assemble components for real DI client projects.
• Work with a variety of materials including wood, plastics, metals, laminates and other specialty materials.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and project documentation.
• Measure, cut, assemble and finish components with emphasis on quality and accuracy.
• Learn fabrication techniques from experienced craftspeople.
• Collaborate with other fabricators and production teams to solve challenges as projects are built.
• Help inspect work for quality, fit and finish.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• See projects progress from components to completed client experiences.
