Job summary

Threat Tec, LLC is seeking a dependable General Shop Technician to support operations within our Mission Engineering Division in a fast-paced shop environment. You will assist machinists and engineers with fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of components and systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on machine shop experience, carpentry skills, and proficiency with hand and power tools. You will work alongside technicians and engineers to move projects from concept to completion while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hands-on experience in a machine shop, fabrication, or maintenance setting.
• General knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and shop practices.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings and instructions.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and shop equipment.
• Carpentry skills including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical work including assembly, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Assist machinists and engineers with fabrication, modification, and assembly.
• Carry out basic carpentry tasks for wooden structures and components.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely.
• Support metal fabrication, grinding, drilling, cutting, and finishing.
• Assist with assembly and integration of mechanical systems and prototypes.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on shop tools and machinery.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
• Support material handling, inventory organization, and shop setup.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Identify mechanical issues and contribute to practical solutions.
• Collaborate with machinists, technicians, and engineers on projects.
• Perform additional general shop duties as needed to support Mission Engineering.
