Job summary

Evercore in New York seeks a Director to lead the Corporate vertical technology team, building and supporting software for Finance, HR, Legal, and Compliance. This hands-on role requires mentoring the development staff while actively coding and delivering solutions.

You will drive architecture, enforce best practices, manage budgets, and partner with business leads to translate requirements into technical wins, including opportunities in Generative AI and automation.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience as a Software Development Manager, Development Supervisor, or Technical Lead with management responsibilities.
• Hands-on engineering ability - stay hands-on and write production code when needed.
• 5-10 years of .NET framework/core C#, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience delivering software solutions using Azure development products such as Data Factory, Functions, Logic Apps, API Management.
• Experience delivering software solutions for corporate/back-office functions (Finance, HR, Legal, or similar).
• Experience with API and/or data integration development (REST/SOAP APIs, message queues, system-to-system integrations).
• Experience developing ETL processes with MSSQL.
• Excellent oral and written communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and consistency of software architecture by conducting regular code reviews.
• Remain hands-on with development work as needed - writing code, prototyping solutions, and troubleshooting alongside the team.
• Manage multiple projects and understand interdependencies across streams.
• Collaborate with leadership and business stakeholders to identify strategic wins and reduce technical debt.
• Work with Business Analysts to scope solutions and provide estimates.
• Partner with corporate function leads to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide leadership and mentorship for day-to-day guidance of the development team.
• Boost team camaraderie and morale.
• Manage resourcing and budget for the team, including vendor/consultant oversight.
• Identify opportunities to leverage Generative AI and intelligent automation.
