Job summary

Atrium Staffing is seeking a Data Center Technician to support and maintain data center hardware and infrastructure. This role involves hands-on work with servers, network devices, and cabling to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with network and system administrators to resolve technical issues, maintain equipment inventory, and perform routine firmware upgrades. High school diploma required; Linux knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with data center operations, rack and stack, and server deployment.
• Proficient in hardware installation, break-fix, and troubleshooting of server components and optics.
• Knowledge of fiber and copper cabling techniques.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and ability to work with network engineers.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with remote teams and document activities.

Responsibilities

• Temporarily rack, stack, and cable servers or switches to provide remote access for network admins.
• Collaborate with Network Administrators to resolve server issues and upgrade hardware components.
• Install replacement parts and manage return shipments of defective equipment.
• Cable servers and network devices per wiring diagrams and validate connectivity.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot server issues with remote support.
• Perform server firmware upgrades and ensure approved versions.
• Conduct inspections and audits of servers and inventory.
• Support rack and stack activities, deployment, decommissioning, and break-fix tasks.
• Assist with fiber and copper cabling and basic networking tasks.
