Job summary

MCL Construction is seeking a hands-on crafts professional to mentor crews and lead on-site training under the MCL Arena Mentality. You will train apprentices, share best practices, and help elevate field performance while staying actively engaged in trades work on projects.

The role emphasizes teaching and mentoring over management, with NCCER Instructor certification and OSHA 30 preferred, and a strong commitment to safety and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on craft experience and staying sharp on techniques, tools, and methods.
• Proven track record of teaching or mentoring — toolbox talks, apprentice mentoring, instructor credential or similar.
• NCCER Instructor certification preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead toolbox talks and mentor apprentices, creating simple training aids.
• Partner with foremen and superintendents to raise on-site technical skill levels across projects.
• Remain hands-on and avoid transition into management roles while sharing expertise.
