Job summary

Tierra Encantada, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a hands-on Controller to own day-to-day accounting, build scalable processes, and support the CFO in financial strategy. The role combines execution with leadership for a growing multi-site organization.

The position is full-time, hybrid (4 days onsite at HQ, 1 day WFH) with a base salary of $130,000-$150,000 plus annual bonus eligibility, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Hands-on, execution-focused Controller with audits experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timeliness and accuracy.
• Own audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
• Establish internal controls and multi-state compliance.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and cash management.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders for budgeting and reporting.
