Job summary

Lakeshore Landscaping, a PE-backed landscape maintenance platform serving the Minneapolis metro area, seeks a hands-on Controller to own the full accounting function as the company scales. You will report to senior leadership, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and serve as the primary liaison for ongoing and future acquisitions, ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred for senior accounting roles.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or Senior Accounting Manager level.
• Hands-on ASC 805 acquisition accounting experience.
• GAAP financial reporting knowledge for privately held companies.

Responsibilities

• Own the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close with GAAP financial statements.
• Maintain audit-ready controls and prepare reconciliations and journal entries.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers for annual audits.
• Lead acquisition accounting integration and post-close settlements.
• Develop close calendars and documentation for financial processes.
• Interface with sellers for post-close working capital determinations.
• Oversee internal controls, revenue recognition, AR/AP, payroll, and cash management.
• Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
