Job summary

Prevail Recruiting is partnering with a growing, project-driven services organization seeking a hands-on Controller to own day-to-day accounting operations and strengthen the company’s financial infrastructure. This role emphasizes close ownership, cash flow management, and robust reporting.

You’ll partner with a Fractional CFO and executive leadership to deliver timely, actionable financial visibility. You’ll also drive process improvements, implement controls, and support budgeting and

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong full-cycle accounting and month-end close experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Financial reporting and variance-analysis experience.
• Strong understanding of AR, AP, cash flow, and working capital.
• Project/service-based business experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monthly, quarterly, and annual close
• General ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations
• Monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting
• AR aging, collections, cash visibility, and working capital
• Variance analysis and financial reporting
• Customer and project-level margin reporting
• Revenue and cost forecasting
• Internal controls and accounting process improvement
• Accounting workflow documentation and reporting automation
• Budgeting and forecasting support alongside the Fractional CFO
