Job summary

MCL Arena Mentality is seeking hands-on craftspeople who will stay hands-on while mentoring crews and delivering quality on every project. This role emphasizes ownership, high standards, and sharing knowledge through toolbox talks and on-the-job training.

You’ll work with foremen and superintendents, stay current with industry training, and help build the next generation of tradespeople. Since 1987, MCL has built its reputation on quality work and strong team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on craft experience as a skilled tradesperson (Foreman, Journeyman, Lead Carpenter, or equivalent).
• Proven track record of teaching or mentoring — toolbox talks, apprentice mentoring, an instructor credential, or similar.
• NCCER Instructor certification preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Recognized by peers as a trusted, go-to resource on the job site.
• Genuine interest in staying hands-on and teaching — not using this as a stepping stone back into management.

Responsibilities

• Bring deep, current hands-on craft expertise and stay sharp on techniques, tools, and methods.
• Train, mentor, and coach crews on best practices, quality standards, and safe work methods.
• Run toolbox talks, mentor apprentices, and build simple job aids and training materials.
• Partner with foremen and superintendents to raise the technical skill level across projects.
• Serve as a trusted, go-to resource for crews — without taking on management or P&L responsibility.
• Stay plugged into industry training standards and bring new methods back to the field.
