MCL Construction in La Vista, Nebraska, is seeking experienced trades professionals to join our arena-minded team. You’ll keep your hands in the work, mentor apprentices, and help raise the technical bar across projects.

This role emphasizes staying hands-on, sharing techniques, coaching crews, and delivering quality work while building the next generation of craft professionals. We value ownership, safety, and a collaboration team culture.

Qualifications

• Hands-on craft expertise with current trade knowledge.
• Experience training crews, toolbox talks, and apprentices.
• NCCER Instructor certification preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train, mentor, and coach crews on best practices and safety.
• Lead toolbox talks and develop training materials.
• Partner with foremen to raise technical skill levels on projects.
• Stay hands-on and pass on knowledge, not moving into management.

What You Bring To The Arena

• Bring deep, current hands-on craft expertise and stay sharp on techniques, tools, and methods.
• Train, mentor, and coach crews on best practices, quality standards, and safe work methods.
• Run toolbox talks, mentor apprentices, and build simple job aids and training materials.
• Partner with foremen and superintendents to raise the technical skill level across projects.
• Serve as a trusted, go-to resource for crews — without taking on management or P&L responsibility.
• Stay plugged into industry training standards and bring new methods back to the field.

The Skills Behind The Build

• Deep, hands-on experience as a skilled tradesperson or craft professional (Foreman, Journeyman, Lead Carpenter, or equivalent).
• Proven track record of teaching or mentoring — toolbox talks, apprentice mentoring, an instructor credential, or similar.
• NCCER Instructor certification preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Recognized by peers as a trusted, go-to resource on the job site.
• Genuine interest in staying hands-on and teaching — not using this as a stepping stone back into management.
