Job summary

Top Prospect Group in Milford, CT is seeking an Automation Assembly Technician to assist with the design, procurement, assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of automation equipment. This hands-on role partners with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to ensure equipment meets design and quality standards while staying on schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or two years' experience in machine design, assembly, or automation.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• SolidWorks CAD experience is a plus.
• Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical diagrams.
• Familiarity with electrical controls including timers, relays, and switches.
• Knowledge of PLC programming is a significant advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing, manufacturing, final assembly, inspection and shipment of automation equipment.
• Collaborate with suppliers, engineers, and manufacturing staff to resolve issues.
• Develop work plans including layouts, studies, equipment design and material requirements.
• Perform cost analyses and monitor expenditures to meet budgets.
• Research new machine design methods and control technologies.
• Create operation manuals, maintenance docs, and service schedules.
• Install, troubleshoot, and service equipment at customer sites.
• Train customers on setup, operation, and maintenance.
• Travel as needed for trade shows, engineering activities and customer visits.
• Comply with environmental, health, safety, and product packaging requirements.
