Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education and a relevant instructional subject area(s).
• Licensed in the State of Minnesota in the appropriate instructional area.
• Minimum completion of an assigned internship/practice teaching experience and degree program.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers engaging classroom and auto/engine instruction, equipment operation, and workplace safety.
• Provides instruction aligned with district curriculum standards while preparing students for technical careers, apprenticeships, certifications and post-secondary opportunities.
• Teaches proper use of hand tools, power tools, relevant auto/engine machinery, safety procedures, and relevant practices.
• Plans and implements hands-on projects, demonstrations, and technical learning activities.
• Evaluates and assesses student progress through practical application, assignments, tests and project completion.
• Maintains a safe, organized, and structured shop/classroom environment, including equipment maintenance and safety compliance.
• Adapts instruction to meet diverse student learning needs and skill levels.
• Promotes career readiness, problem-solving, teamwork, leadership, and technical competency.
• Collaborates with staff, administration, parents, and community or industry partners to support student success.
• Participates in curriculum development, professional development, school meetings, and student support planning.
• Supervises students during classroom, autoshop and school-related activities while maintaining behavioral expectations.
• Provides leadership and guidance to classroom support staff when applicable.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
