Job summary

Lake Area Technical College is seeking an Automotive Technology Instructor to deliver hands-on classroom and lab instruction in automotive fundamentals, transmissions, engine diagnostics, repair, and diesel topics. You will develop up-to-date curriculum and use MyPortal to engage students, while staying current with industry trends and safety standards.

Qualifications

AAS in Automotive Technology is required.
At least 3 years of professional work experience in automotive service.
ASE Master Certification or the ability to achieve within one year of hire.
Experience teaching in campus and/or online environments is desirable.
Proficiency with dealer management software; ability to integrate technology into instruction.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging hands-on instruction in classroom and lab settings on topics such as automotive fundamentals, transmissions, engine diagnostics, repair, and light diesel.
Develop and update curriculum aligned with industry standards and incorporate instructional technology.
Use the learning management system to manage content and student engagement.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and certification standards.
Collaborate with fellow instructors to ensure a cohesive instructional approach.
Enforce safety, attendance, conduct, and professional appearance policies.
Maintain records, manage lab equipment and inventory, and ensure a safe learning environment.
Assist with outreach, recruitment events, and other public relations activities to promote the program and college.
Perform additional instructional duties as assigned.
