Job summary

Geiger Pump & Equipment Company is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as the technical resource for customers and field teams, focusing on troubleshooting, performance evaluation, and getting critical pump systems back online. You’ll gain hands-on experience with pumping equipment and collaborate with sales to pursue new and aftermarket opportunities.

You’ll learn pump selection, sizing, and application fundamentals while supporting proposals, field startups, and service activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or closely related field.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving for rotating equipment.
• Ability to read specifications, drawings, and pump curves.
• Willingness to travel periodically to regional customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for existing installations: troubleshooting, performance evaluations, and upgrade recommendations that keep customers’ operations running.
• Get hands-on with equipment alongside our service technicians in our Baltimore shop with travel to our Aston, PA shop as needed.
• Work alongside our service and sales teams to diagnose equipment issues, identify solutions, and build corrective action plans for pumps and rotating equipment.
• Support startup, commissioning, field inspections, and performance verification when your expertise is needed on-site alongside our field service technicians and sales engineers.
