Job summary
Plata Card seeks a hands-on Engineering Manager for AI Platform, the team building internal AI platforms used across the company. You will lead a cross-functional engineering team, own end-to-end delivery, and work with Product, Data, and AI teams on scope, priorities, and the platform roadmap.
This is a hands-on role: beyond people management, you will actively shape the architecture and make technical decisions within the team to build scalable backend services and APIs for broad adoption
Qualifications
- Leadership experience managing engineering teams.
- Experience leading AI/ML or data-driven engineering initiatives.
- Hands-on development experience to validate technical decisions.
- Experience shipping AI-powered products or services to production.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into technical solutions and priorities.
- Strong cross-team communication with Product, Data and business stakeholders.
- English proficiency at B1 level or higher.
Responsibilities
- Lead hiring, planning, task decomposition, process improvements, and cross-team collaboration.
- Own end-to-end delivery of internal AI platforms from concept to production.
- Turn recurring product needs into reusable platform capabilities, not one-off solutions.
- Ensure strong team performance and on-time delivery aligned with goals.
- Collaborate with Product, Data, and AI teams as well as platform users to drive adoption.
- Shape architecture, design, and implementation of scalable backend services and APIs.
