Elmet Technologies in Lewiston, ME is seeking a 1st Shift Production Supervisor to lead a manufacturing team on the floor. You will drive daily production, safety, and quality while coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, concepts, and practices.
• Experience supervising production employees and managing daily manufacturing operations.
• Ability to plan and organize production activities while balancing competing priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience coaching, developing, and managing employee performance.
• Ability to make sound decisions and resolve production problems independently.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing safety, quality, and operating procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments.
• Results-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsabilités

• Lead, direct, and support production employees to meet daily manufacturing goals.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and performance.
• Monitor production activity and adjust priorities to meet schedules and customer requirements.
• Coordinate production schedules, staffing, equipment availability, and material requirements.
• Work with Supply Chain and Production Planning to establish capacity based on available equipment, employees, and raw materials.
• Identify production delays, communicate issues promptly, and coordinate solutions with Maintenance, Planning, and Operations leadership.
• Monitor daily production results and communicate accomplishments, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure employees consistently follow established operating procedures, company policies, and manufacturing standards.
• Develop a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and process variables to help troubleshoot production problems.
• Train and develop operators in safety, manufacturing processes, technical skills, and quality requirements.
• Maintain product quality through consistent application of AS9100 procedures and established quality standards.
• Conduct safety and housekeeping inspections and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
• Support the development and improvement of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures.
• Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Supply Chain, Quality, and Human Resources.
• Make timely operational decisions to resolve routine production challenges and maintain workflow.
• Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, equipment utilization, productivity, and quality.
• Support budget preparation, cost control, and responsible use of manufacturing resources.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Help build a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment.
