Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, develop recovery plans, and supervise OT staff in a collaborative clinical setting.

The role emphasizes orthotic fabrication, post-surgical rehab, and interdisciplinary care with hand surgeons and clinicians. Licensure as PT/OT and CHT certification are required or preferred along with CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Current state PT or OT license.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions for hand/upper-extremity conditions.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises OT Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
