Job summary

Harborview Hand Therapy Clinic at UW Medicine seeks an Occupational Therapist 2 – Hand Therapy for a per diem, day shift position in Seattle. The role focuses on delivering specialized hand therapy to trauma-based patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The OT will implement therapies including exercise, manual techniques, splinting, and education for patients and families, while mentoring students and contributing to quality care initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program and pass the AOTA certification exam with at least 18 months of OT experience.
• Licensed by Washington state as an OT or hold a valid probational certificate to practice.
• CHT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, administer, evaluate and provide safe hand therapy for trauma-based patients.
• Progress patient goals and educate patients and families.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to coordinate care from admission to discharge.
• Implement treatment programs including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, splinting, and physical agents.
• Instruct and evaluate students as assigned by supervisor.
• Serve as a resource within rehab therapy and educate other health care professionals.
• Participate in department activities/projects to improve hand therapy care.
• Provide education training to rehab staff and health care professionals.
