Job summary

Ascension Medical Group Seton Orthopedics – North Austin in Austin, TX seeks a PRN Rehab Therapist (Occupational Therapy) to assess patients, design care plans, and deliver specialized orthopedic rehabilitation. The role involves creating treatment plans, fabricating orthotics, and guiding patients and caregivers through therapies and discharge planning.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with BLS certification and preferably a Master’s degree;

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and design the appropriate plan of care.
• Administer and evaluate tests of musculoskeletal, neurological and physiological responses to determine functioning.
• Develop treatment plans based on patient evaluation.
• Design and fabricate orthotics and adaptive equipment; initiate and perform treatments through exercise, manual therapy, and rehab.
• Educate patient and family about deficits; plan/discharge from therapy services.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Assess patient and design the appropriate plan of care.

• Administer and evaluate tests of musculoskeletal, neurological and physiological responses to determine functioning.


• Develop appropriate treatment plans based on an patient evaluation.


• Design and fabricate orthotics and adaptive equipment. Initiate and perform treatments through the use of exercise, manual therapy, physical agents and rehabilitation.


• Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy credentialed from the obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required.


• Master's degree preferred.
