Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a Hand Solder Operator II to join our electronics manufacturing team in Melbourne, FL. You will assemble and solder PCB assemblies using Through-Hole and SMT techniques, following documented procedures and ensuring high quality.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hand-soldering experience, and IPC J-STD-001 certification (active or recently expired). This shift runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with compensation of $20/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of hand-soldering PCB assemblies.
  • Active IPC J-STD-001 Certification (or expired less than 1 year).

Responsibilities

  • Follow assembly procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Verify material integrity prior to assembly.
  • Assemble and solder electronic components onto PCBs using Through-Hole and SMT techniques.
  • Inspect circuit board assemblies to determine soldering requirements and ensure quality standards.
  • Pre-form component leads according to process specifications.
  • Identify, document, and report defective components or materials.
  • Maintain accuracy of work-in-process documentation and production records.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas and surrounding workspace.
  • Maintain ESD compliance within the production environment.
  • Understand and follow all ISO standards and job-specific procedures.
  • Support continuous quality and process improvement efforts.
  • Assist with training and mentoring other employees as needed.

What You'll Do:

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hand‑soldering Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies
  • Active IPC J-STD-001 Certification (or expired less than 1 year)
What Sets You Apart:
  • 1 year of experience with soldering in Collins in lieu of IPC J-STD-001 Certification
  • IPC-A-610 Certification
  • Experience with soldering jumper wire on Printed Circuit Board Assembly
  • ESD Training
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and IPC Standards.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively as a team member.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and quickly with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to read procedures and interpret visual aids.
  • Basic computer skills, problem solving and workstation skills.
  • Experience with high-volume work.
  • Must have the ability to operate in a multi-tasking, highly dynamic work environment.
