Job summary

Modern Industries, Inc. is seeking a Hand Finisher for a weekend schedule at our Phoenix facility. This role involves hand finishing a variety of metal parts and castings for aerospace and semiconductor applications, using hand and power tools to grind, sand, and clean parts.

The position requires basic measurement and deburring tasks, reading English, and ability to stand for extended periods. A 12-hour Friday–Sunday shift with a 10% differential applies, along with a $4,000 sign-on bonus paid

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 0-3 years hand finish experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend English preferred.
• Experience with hand finishing tools and basic deburr tasks is preferred.

***This is a weekend shift opportunity, 12 hour Days Friday - Sunday***

***Weekend shift is eligible for a 10% shift differential on base pay***

*** Effective June 1, 2026 Sign-On Bonus: $4000. Paid out: 1st half 30 days, and 2nd half in 60 days once on Modern's payroll.***

Duties/Responsibilities:

• This position will hand finish a wide variety of metal parts and castings for the Aerospace and Semi‑Conductor industries.
• Uses hand and power tools to grind, sand, and clean parts to prepare for further finishing. Breaks edges and deburres.

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Ability to use a wide variety of basic deburr and hand finish tools (right angle grinder, die grinder, orbital sanders) and equipment Air Pen, both manual and power.
• Knowledge how to use of calipers, torque wrenches, helicoil, keensert, and Leeplug installation tools.

Education and Experience:

• High school or GED. Minimum 0-3 years hand finish experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend English preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Steady hand‑eye coordination.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. Ability to work standing for periods of time.
• May involve twisting/turning of upper body.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must wear personal protective equipment at all times.
