Modern Industries, Inc. in Tempe, Arizona, is seeking skilled workers to hand finish a variety of metal parts and castings for the aerospace and semiconductor industries. Responsibilities include using hand and power tools to grind, sand, and prepare parts for further finishing.
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, with 0–3 years of experience preferred. Steady hand-eye coordination and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs are essential. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols.
Hand finish a wide variety of metal parts and castings for the aerospace and semiconductor industries.
Use hand and power tools to grind, sand, clean, break edges, and deburr parts in preparation for further finishing.
Knowledge & Abilities:Ability to use basic deburring and hand-finishing tools, including right angle grinders, die grinders, orbital sanders, and air pens (manual and power).
Knowledge and proper use of calipers, torque wrenches, helicoil, keensert, and Lee plug installation tools.
Education & Experience:High School Diploma or GED required.
0–3 years of hand finishing experience preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend English preferred.
Physical Requirements:Steady hand-eye coordination.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to twist/turn upper body as required.
Close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required.
Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
