Job summary

Modern Industries, Inc. is seeking a Hand Finisher for 2nd shift at our Phoenix, AZ facility.

This role involves hand finishing a wide variety of metal parts and castings for aerospace and semiconductor applications, using hand and power tools to grind, sand, deburr, and prepare parts for finishing. We offer a 2nd shift with an 8% shift differential, plus a $3,000 sign-on bonus paid after onboarding and at 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years of hand finishing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hand finish a wide variety of metal parts and castings for aerospace and semiconductor industries.
• Use hand and power tools to grind, sand, clean, deburr parts in preparation for finishing.
• Inspect parts for quality and fit, and read basic measurements as needed.

Description

***This is a 2nd shift opportunity, Monday - Thursday 4pm - 2:30am***

***2nd shift is eligible for a 8% shift differential on base pay***

*** Effective June 1, 2026 Sign-On Bonus: $3000. Paid out: 1st half 30 days, and 2nd half in 60 days once on Modern's payroll.***

Duties & Responsibilities:

Hand finish a wide variety of metal parts and castings for the aerospace and semiconductor industries

Use hand and power tools to grind, sand, clean, break edges, and deburr parts in preparation for further finishing

Knowledge & Abilities:

Proficient in the use of deburring and hand-finishing tools including right angle grinders, die grinders, orbital sanders, and air pens (manual and power)

Knowledge and use of calipers, torque wrenches, helicoil, keensert, and Lee plug installation tools

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required

0-3 years of hand finishing experience preferred

Ability to read and comprehend English preferred

Physical Requirements:

Steady hand-eye coordination

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Ability to stand for extended periods

Ability to twist/turn upper body as needed

Close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required

Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
