Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a Metal Finish Operator for the 3rd shift in Defiance, OH. You will set up machines, adjust settings, and ensure safety and quality standards are met as you finish metal parts ready for painting or plating.

Responsibilities include inspecting parts, removing dents, maintaining finishing tools, and moving components while adhering to safety procedures on an 8- to 12-hour shift. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate from college or technical school preferred.

• Maintains tools for finishing operations (includes cleaning, oiling, storing, and other maintenance as required).
• Transfers sheet metal components from incoming load to work surface, following all safety procedures.
• Maintains a safe and clean workspace.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

• One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Some physical demand; often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
• May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
