Employment Status: Part-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Schedule: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday as needed 5pm-midnight (10-15 hours Average per week)

Reports to: Pastor

Summary

The Hall Attendant ensures that parish clients have a wonderful experience when they choose Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church as their venue of choice. Works Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays as needed in the Parish Hall and assists the client during the event. Hours vary based on events (often 5PM-10PM or Midnight once or twice/weekend). Weekend events held in the Parish Hall include but not limited to receptions for weddings, Quinceanera's, baby showers, parish ministry events and/or activities including meetings, private parties and events.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic organization
  • *Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Supports and adheres to the Religious Standards, policies and procedures of the Archdiocese
  • *Maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive matters
  • *Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
  • Shows the Parish Hall on weekends as needed.
  • Receives schedule of events from Parish administrator.
  • Opens the Parish Hall on day of event at agreed upon time.
  • Provides onsite help with all needs that arise on day of event, from simply greeting guests, helping with audio/video, working with caterers, etc.
  • *Remains onsite in the Parish Hall for entirety of event.
  • *Transitions closing of Parish Hall to cleaning group.
  • *Once available, work concessions to include but not limited to preparing food such as popcorn, serving beverages, etc.
  • *Inventory control: Assess inventory and assist in preparing product orders as necessary.
  • Stock and restock items as necessary.
  • *Responsible for informing supervisor of needs in product inventory.
  • Collect concession payments, whether in cash or credit.
  • Polish counters, clean concession area to include popcorn machine.
  • *Responsible for some of the custodial duties – emptying trash, cleaning and restocking restrooms, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the hall.
  • Other duties as assigned by pastor.

  • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church

Working Conditions

  • Required to manage high to moderate levels of stress
  • Required to work in standard work conditions

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift 40 lbs. frequently, stand/walk 7-10 hours
  • Reliable transportation
  • Is detail-oriented in all tasks
  • Good interpersonal skills, be friendly, outgoing and willing to work under pressure
  • Excellent time management, creative problem solving and communication skills required
  • Knowledge and ability to work with various technology
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends through 12:00am and holidays due to an unpredictable work schedule when necessary.

Travel Requirements:

Travel is not required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have great customer service skills
  • Must have good communications skills, verbal and written
  • Must successfully pass a background and criminal history check
  • Must have a clean, neat appearance and professional demeanor
  • Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish)
