Job summary

YMCA of Snohomish County is seeking a part-time Preschool Supervisor to provide direct supervision of a group of children in a safe, inclusive environment. Availability Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9:15-12:30pm is required.

Responsibilities include implementing daily lesson plans, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and engaging families at events while adhering to DCYF guidelines and YMCA policies. The YMCA emphasizes inclusion and equal opportunity employment with diverse teams and community

Qualifications

  • Meet educational and experience qualifications established by DCYF, including ECE certificates or coursework within 5 years.
  • Provide documentation of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including TB test, MMR/vaccine proof, and background check.
  • Fluency in a second language is desirable.

  • Comply with state and local regulations and YMCA standards and procedures.
  • Adhere to program safety and cleanliness standards.

Position Summary:

Provide direct supervision of a group of children in a safe, enjoyable, positive and inclusive environment, sometimes independently.

Position requires availability during all program hours - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 915-1230pm

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Supervise all children and activities within the program area
  • Implement daily lesson and activity plans
  • Comply with state and local regulations as well as YMCA standards and procedures
  • Adhere to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards
  • Attend and participate in family events, program activities, and staff meetings as directed
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies
  • Maintain positive relations with participants, parents and other staff
  • Diapering and toilet training for children including assisting children in changing out of soiled clothing
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Meet educational and experience qualifications established by Department of Child Youth and Families (DCYF). Including ECE college certificates / coursework within 5 years of position or as designated by the DCYF
  • Provide document of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, MMR vaccine or proof of immunity, and portable background check
  • Fluency in second language desired

Physical Demands:

As directed, lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. Staff may be required to move weights of approximately 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
