Job summary

The YMCA of Snohomish County in Everett, WA seeks a program leader to provide direction for the child care program and staff, delivering a safe, engaging, inclusive curriculum.

You will supervise a classroom up to 20 children, plan daily activities, communicate with parents, maintain records, and ensure compliance with DCYF requirements; fluency in another language is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Meet educational and experience qualifications established by DCYF.
  • Provide documentation of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF.
  • Plan, organize, and implement high quality developmentally appropriate programming.
  • Fluency in second language preferred
  • Early Achievers knowledge preferred

  • Manage a classroom of up to 20 children including maintain a daily schedule, responding to individual needs and creating a positive climate.

  • Maintain communication with parents, conduct regularly scheduled parent conferences, and engage parents as volunteers.
  • Maintain materials, equipment, and program facility.
  • Maintain required program records.
  • Diapering and toilet training including assisting children in changing out of soiled clothing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Summary:

Qualifications:
  • Meet educational and experience qualifications established by Department of Child Youth and Families (DCYF). Including ECE college certificates / coursework within 5 years of position or as designated by the DCYF
  • Provide documentation of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, MMR vaccination or proof of immunity, and portable background check
  • Plan, organize, and implement high quality developmentally appropriate programming
  • Fluency in second language preferred
  • Early Achievers knowledge preferred

Physical Demands:

As directed, lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. Staff may be required to move weights of approximately 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
