Madison Reed seeks a Hair Color Bar Assistant in Washington, DC to support Licensed Colorists and a Shift Lead while learning services and consultations. You’ll help guests pick the best color and execute services, with an eye toward promotion to Licensed Colorist in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers base hourly pay plus commissions and tips, with potential earnings between $28.50 and $29.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where applying.
• Entry-level customer service or retail experience preferred.
• Effective communication and people skills in a fast-paced retail/salon env.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist Licensed Colorists and support guest experience from arrival to departure.
• Help with shampooing, styling, blowouts, and color-related services per guest request.
• Contribute to achieving sales goals: retail, services, memberships.
• Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and asset security.
• Follow Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
• Promote memberships, subscriptions, and home hair care to grow revenue.
• Learn color theory and progress toward becoming a Licensed Colorist.
