Job summary

Planet Fitness is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep the East Orange, NJ club safe, clean, and fully operational. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and facility upkeep to ensure members and team members enjoy a positive, well-maintained environment.

You will work closely with club management to complete work orders promptly, minimize equipment downtime, and uphold Planet Fitness brand standards, with a flexible schedule and on-call availability as

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and technical documentation.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple work orders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance logs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Complete preventative maintenance on fitness equipment and facilities.
• Repair or coordinate repairs for cardio equipment, strength equipment, tanning beds, HydroMassage units, and other club amenities.
• Maintain HVAC, lighting, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, doors, locks, flooring, ceiling tiles, and walls.
• Ensure restrooms and common areas remain in excellent working condition.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
