Job summary

Mars in New York, Village of Yorkville seeks an Operator to run and change over automated processes while ensuring quality, safety and continuous improvement. You will work in a team, operate equipment, perform cleaning, and complete paperwork in line with the five Principles of Mars.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma (associates preferred) and 2+ years in food manufacturing with PLC/HMI experience; strong math, communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Grade 12 or High School diploma, or equivalent.
• Preferred: Associates degree, or higher, in an engineering or manufacturing related discipline.
• Two (2) or more years of experience in a food related manufacturing environment with automated processes, including PLC/HMI.
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment in the assigned work area while ensuring quality, safety and performance standards are met.
• Communicate effectively with team leader and peers.
• Follow proper escalation protocol.
• Fill out HACCP and military sheets correctly.
• Encourage and support a safe working environment.
• Keep manufacturing area clean and organized at all times in accordance with 5S standards.
• Perform cleanouts and changeovers according to standards; work instructions and checklists.
• Participate in TPM teams.
